THE BREEZY BLOG
Prom season is among us and whether you get your makeup done professionally or decide to do it yourself, here are a few tricks to make sure your makeups stays on all night! Nothing worse than seeing your prom photos and wondering why your eyelids are oily with your shadows breaking apart or why the heck your blush is faded! I use these products and techniques when working on any client and you can do them too if you are going to "DIY" this time around. Skin Prep + PrimeThis will definitely depend on your skin type but always make sure you moisturize! You want to look fresh and hydrated, especially when applying layers of makeup. If I feel a client needs it, then I will add a primer as well..I don't like the thick, silicone feeling so I try to stick to something like the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It truly perfects the face canvas! FaceDrugstore or high-end, make sure it not only provides great coverage but is also long lasting! Before "setting" the face with your favorite face powders...this would be the time to highlight & sculpt the face (great for your pictures). I recommend applying all cream products as a base then top them with powders. This will ensure that your makeup will look the same at hour 1 as at hour 10! Tip: L.A. Girl Pro.conceal dries fast so I would blend that out as you go (like one cheekbone at a time). EyesOnce you put this 24-hour Extend Base on, it can have your cheapest drugstore eyeshadows looking like a million bucks! You won't have to worry about oily lids or shadows separating because this gem will take care of you! Also make sure your eyeliner pencils, eyeliner gels, mascara, etc. are all WATERPROOF!! If you win Prom Queen and feel the tears coming, remember to dab and not smear. LipsUnless you use a lip stain, your lips will be the one thing you need to touch-up. Liquid Lipsticks for example: seem like they won't move but the minute grease or food touches, it will break down! I would recommend using a lip stain, MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil then top it with your favorite lipstick and/or gloss. Set
There are setting sprays out there that will help to keep you matte/control oils and some out there to give you that healthy glow within or even some that keep your face cooer l in warmer temperatures. Find your favorite one and you are set...pun intended! LOL If you would like to book me for your Prom or any other special event, message me here!
