THE BREEZY BLOG
Hey all and thanks for stopping by! Today I'm going to let you know just how easy it is to take care of your lips, which are often neglected in the skincare routine. I have been guilty of this and I know I'm not alone. Most importantly though, I always remind my clients a month prior to their wedding or special occasion about helpful skincare tips they should follow through with to prep for the day. Brides also ask how their lipstick is going to stay on or if I can make their textured lips smooth...the answer is they need to do the proper prep and when they do, they're going to get better results and help that lip stain go on smooth & last longer! **Side Note: I made these for my coworkers as Christmas gifts a few years ago and they were a hit! I just added a cute gift tag to them and the cute mason jar doubled up as wrapping! Alright, let's start with the shopping bag or better yet you will probably find these items in your home! What You Need:You can purchase your Mason Jars, coconut oil, brown sugar & peppermint oil at Trader Joe's, Amazon, Target, etc. Better yet, you may find these items in your home already! What To Do:In a clean bowl, mix about 4-5 tsp. of brown sugar and 2-3 tsp. of coconut oil together. At this point you will know if you need to add more sugar so you get a paste-like consistency. Once mixed, add about 2 drops of Peppermint Oil. These measurements will make about 1/4 cup which will fit in the mason jelly jars.I would make them in small batches at a time for personal use so it does not go bad. If you would like to make a large batch to then place in multiple jars for gifts then you can multiply the recipe for sure. Fun Idea:Switch out the brown sugar for white coarse sugar and add food coloring. I did this when I made these as gifts and they were a hit! Don't Forget:After exfoliating lips with your DIY Lip Scrub, be sure to add a balm for hydration! Try this one from Sara Happ or Aquaphor...both work but have different price points! Hope that you enjoyed this post and learned something new. Let's interact on social media!
