Driving without a destination...my favorite 90s/00s jams on and an iced coffee to sip on! One day I packed a small backpack with some essentials and I just started driving when I decided to pull off and stay in Crestline for the night. They only had a few mini cabins left so I scooped one up, turned on the fireplace, watched The Office for a bit and read a book. Being spontaneous is fun, plus I got to check an item off my 2018 Summer Bucket List of driving without a destination! When I woke up, I made some coffee and enjoyed the cold crisp air on my little porch. I checked out early and hit the road - with very low visibility but minutes later I was greeted by blue skies and the stunning Silverwood Lake (pictured below)! I continued my road trip and ended up in Valley of Fire State Park. For months I bookmarked this place after seeing so many gorgeous photos on Instagram. I am so glad I made it on this specific day. The weather was PERFECT (y'all know I do not like the heat), sunny skies, in the 70s, cool breeze and lots of photo opportunities! Below are some highlights of this day trip. I hiked some loops, climbed rocks and drove through empty roads. Entry fee was only $10 per vehicle and totally worth the small expense. I was so sick this day but I pushed through because everything around me was too beautiful! I decided to drive back home so another iced coffee and new playlist got me home! I sure do love adventures and naturally I am a planner so being this spontaneous and just driving "somewhere" was definitely making me anxious but I'm so glad I did this.
