THE BREEZY BLOG
What happens when I get an entire day off?! It calls for a solo road trip! I have visited Palm Springs before, but I never got to ride the tramway. So I decided to wake up early and drive to Palm Springs for day of adventure. Come along for the ride and enjoy the picture overload! Tip: You can purchase tickets for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway online. Be sure to arrive EARLY because you have to park in lots and then catch a shuttle up to the Valley Station. The ride up was about 10 minutes and the views were gorgeous! The tram does rotate so I got to see views from every angle. I believe there are four or five towers and each time you pass one (pictured above), the car jolts and it swings a little...scared me the first few times LOL Once I got to the top, the temperature dropped about 35 degrees which was perfect for the hike I was about to do. The slideshow above is from the top of Mountain Station where they have restaurants too! There's a Lombard Street lookalike path that takes you down to the Mt. San Jacinto trails...the walk back up was "fun" haha NOT! I was so hungry so I stopped by Maracas to eat some late lunch al fresco. It was pretty warm out but I was in the shade & they had misters outside. I had to save some room for DESSERT at the very famous Great Shakes. I tried the Brownie Almond Crunch and it came with a fresh donut...so yummy! On my way home, I stopped by the Cabazon Dinosaurs. Since it was a holiday weekend, traffic was horrible so this was a nice little break for me. If you have kids, you have to stop by here. They'll love it!
