THE BREEZY BLOG
A peek into one of SoCal's favorite mountain destinations - Big Bear! I remember visiting all the time as a child and I'm so glad I decided on a spontaneous day trip with my bestie. Keep reading to see a little piece of Autumn... Alpine Slide Big Bear Driving on the main highway, we noticed a slide down the mountain to our right and we just HAD to go!! We looked it up and y'all...it's only $6pp per ride! Alpine Slide Big Bear is home to more attractions too but the slide was so fun we did it twice! You start by signing a waiver, riding a chairlift with a great view of the lake to your left then you get your board to go down either the "first time rider lane" or "fast lane" and then you just enjoy the views on the way down. Coffee Pitstop Adulting means that after a fun time riding slides down a mountain, you then go straight to the #1 Yelp coffee shop in town for some hot cocoa and lattes. Big Bear Coffee Roasting Company had an impressive selection of coffee beans to purchase as well. Cold Weather = Chapped Lips Colder weather means chapped lips but I had a quick trick "on the go" - honey, raw sugar (from the coffee shop lol) and some lip balm for an instant moisturized pout. You can also, view my DIY Lip Scrub post here. The Lake - Nature Walk Big Bear still doesn't have snow so we got to drive around the lake and do a nature walk around the Big Bear Solar Observatory. For a list of other hikes in the area, check this out! You can view easy, moderate or difficult trails to fit your lifestyle. Really sad to see the water level in the lake so low but I'm sure the winter snow and rain will make it look better for my next visit! Late Lunch Teddy Bear Restaurant is cozy and small so expect a line at all hours of the day. It is also cash only but they provide an ATM inside. Do yourself a favor and order/split the Cinnamon French Toast - BOMB.COM!! On our way back down the mountain, we enjoyed the sunset + it made the leaves glow! #GoldenHour is real y'all!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy a trip to Big Bear soon! Let's stay connected on social media:
