THE BREEZY BLOG
My birthday tradition continues as my friends/family get together to give back. I look forward to this special activity more than my actual birthday! How To Get Started Check your local hospital for different ways you can volunteer, sometimes it can be as easy as making cards for cancer patients - like CHLA. I found a great resource that included the child's name, address, birth date & special interests so we can make actual birthday cards instead of generic ones - it's called Send Kids the World. We really wanted to make these cards special and unique for each recipient. In the photos above & below, you can tell the recipients loved Star Wars, Mickey Mouse, makeup, dancing, music, sports & more. I wish I could see their faces when they open their cards! Supplies All supplies were purchased at the Dollar Store for the exception of a few things that cost maybe $2.99. All you need to create handmade cards are: -Construction paper or card stock -Markers and/or colored pencils/crayons. -Scissors -Glue (we purchased stick glue but I think liquid would have been better) -TONS of stickers (we used them to decorate as well as included a sheet of stickers in each card for the recipients) -Envelopes & Stamps A very special THANK YOU to my friends & family that brought supplies and spent a few hours of their Saturday to make others smile :) #BreezyGivesBack I am always up for helping out our communities so if you are involved with one, please let me know in the comments below! As a business I am always trying to find different ways of giving back so this is also a friendly reminder that I am donating to Disaster Relief - 10% of the proceeds for anyone who books me for the remainder of 2017. Original post here. Let's be friends!
